的 University of New England’s campus in Biddeford, Maine — at the meeting point of the Saco River and the Atlantic Ocean — is a confluence of natural resources that over the years has attracted and inspired students and faculty with an interest in the natural environment. 的 University has taken advantage of its unique location with the construction of the 亚瑟P. Girard Marine 科学 Center, which provides state-of-the-art facilities for marine education and research, three research vessels and our own Ram Island for student field work.

的 Center to Advance Interprofessional Education and Practice (CAIEP, formerly the Center for Excellence in Collaborative Education) brings together vibrant and innovative University-wide resources to create educational programming responsive to the evolving needs of the 21st century collaborative health care workforce. CAIEP initiatives are multi-level and intended to influence the culture of health education and health care practice across domains.

As new discoveries in science and technology are changing our understanding of human nature and raising burning questions about our future, the Center uses the lenses of the humanities to provide insight into this emerging human condition.
