Associate Professor of Art
斯蒂芬·伯特 is a painter and printmaker. 他出生在荷兰, 1962年在佛罗里达, and was educated at Rhode Island School of Design (论坛 1987) and SUNY Purchase (MFA 1991). Burt has exhibited in both international and national venues, including most recently at 三楼画廊 in NYC; the S大学outhern 缅因州 in Portland, ME; Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, MA; the Ballinglen 艺术 Foundation in Ballycastle, Ireland; and the International Print Center in New York City.
Burt’s work has been acquired for inclusion in many public collections, including those of the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Portland Museum of Art, the Fogg Museum at Harvard, the New York Public Library, and the Library of Congress. Burt’s work has been supported by awards from numerous institutions, 在他们中间, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation, and the Ruth Chenven Foundation, as well as multiple faculty development grants from the University of New England. The literature and imagery of mythology and religion express and give form to our desires and conflicts. As such I have found they are the perfect vehicles to explore my fascination with the human form.
